Untitled 9-10-09

Time slips by.
Inching it's way up the height measure taped on the doorpost.
Decorated with artfully detailed cartoon animals,
They all wear smiles,
seemingly laughing at you for not keeping track of how much the chidren are growing.
How not so long ago, they were running to you and hugging your knees
then resting their forehead on your breast.
The best things in life are free.
Don't waste time complaining about high prices when there are so many priceless things around you.
The seeds that were planted in such rich soil, not so long ago.
They've blossomed six-fold.
Bearing the ripest fruits of youth.
Let your aged eyes and furrowed brow enjoy the innocence and truth.
Welcome the peace and laughter as you once knew it.
Don't hesistate, grab that joy and hold on to it tight.
As wisps of a dandelion seed's wings, it can be taken up so quickly and carried away.
Straying away from our tired, heavy hands.
Time slips away, moments disband.
Hold on to your treasure.
Diamonds are found cloudly and rough.
The youth is worth SO MUCH.

    Needs a little visual balance

I like the way you express the possibility of regret. Rather wistful, but hopeful. For those of us who have watched children grow up it is rather sentimental.
