She looks in the mirror,
And sees exactly who she thought she'd see.
The girl she never wanted to be,
But the girl she had become.
Her eyes have tears waiting to burst.
Her hands grip the counter with white knuckles.
Her knees are about to give out.
But she tried...
She said it didn't matter
She didn't care what people thought
She was still in control of her life
But she was losing it.
It was a downward cycle,
She knew it
She looked for help
But no one was there...
Tears run down her cheeks,
"Soon"
She tells herself.
"It'll be better soon"
The bottle is open on the counter,
Cap knocked on the floor,
Pills scattered in the sink,
A hand-full already gone.
She was growing weaker, harder to stand
Her heart was pounding,
And she can barely breathe.
She closes her eyes...
She falls to the ground,
A note crumpled in her hand:
{When the world came crashing down,
Where were you?}
