Today the grass seems dead and gray,
no longer lively like the colors of May.
The trees slouch like they're growing so tired,
as the leaves on the ground slowly expire.
Swinging from limbs are two lonely ropes,
following the earth and exposing a slope,
where many soft hearts found love in shadows,
or were gazing at stars that lit the meadows.
The sun burning at noon scorches the earth,
unveiling the dirt and destroying its worth.
My eyes agaze the span but nothing is found,
ears monitor the distance but there is no sound,
saying no words as I'm praying to god,
to guide his lost friend to afar and abroad.

I think thishas some really strong powerful imagry, it reminds me of autumn in the first stanza, the second one of a dry summer. It is really lovely, where you writting after looking at a picture because it really seems as if you have. It works so well!
Best of luck in the contest and
keep writting.
