Simon Says (Trigger Warning)

Silently each night, this ten year old boy
Imagines a life without any pain. Where
Mom and Dad wouldn't use him as a punch bag,
Or make him endure things a child shouldn't endure.
Never again will he feel innocence.

Slowly his pain starts to fade
As he takes a kitchen knife to his wrist.
Yes, his parents always told him not to tell...
So now he will silence himself forever.

(Child Abuse Must Stop)

Well now, this is interesting, because you see, you've written an acrostic poem to Simon says...
But... You've not made it clear whether the abuser is called Simon, and the boy is doing what 'Simon Says' or....whether the boy is actually called Simon.
Eitehr way, you learn alot about bnoth characters in this well written sad story.

I only hope that this has not happened to someone you know. I know that the media portrays the incidence of this happening to males as somehwat lower than females, but aty the age of ten...it's quite scary to think that someone could really be thinking that. Very scary me for as my sister is exactly 10 years old, and if she were thinking thoughts like that...I really don't know what I'd do...
I just know that if I found the person responsible, then my poor flatmate may have issues paying the rent for a while...I'd be somewhere else entirely!

This was a short, but great write. Makes you think, worry, care...all about this person that you don't know.
A finalist you are, my friend.
