We sit in the tent,
Waiting anxiously.
Pomp and Circumstance plays,
The seniors walk in.
Everyone cheers,
Claps, and yell names.
The headmaster speaks,
The class president,
Comes after.
The are restless,
The diplomas are out.
Finally,
The headmaster reads names,
Handing each theirs,
Pausing for a picture.
Celebrating,
The reception,
Parties afterward.
The is the beginning,
Of the rest of their lives;
For a very few,
The end.
Emotions,
Running high.
The seniors,
On top of the world.
Good luck,
Good wishes,
Go with them,
Wherever they go.
Good luck,
Take care,
Our thoughts go with you.
