Who is this man,
hiding behind the face of one much stronger?
So colourful his mask,
of fortitude and strength.
So deep is his disguise,
you'd never know that it was fake.
Who is this man,
whose eyes reveal the truth about his heart?
So honestly they search,
for the meaning of his pain.
So painfully they find,
a reason with no name.
Who is this man?
We live between th lies,
and lovers boats capsized.
And upon the crooked cross,
in fires we're baptised.
Fate spins her web around,
and in its silk we are bound.
Our only wish, to turn back the clock,
to a time when love was found.
Who is this man,
filled with lonliness and loss?
So enduring in his silence,
in fires they have burned.
He passed from them now knowing,
time claims us all in turn.
Who was that man,
whose life was filled with pain?
Who was that man,
whose life ended in vain?

I wrote this in jail as well. Any thoughts? Not sure how much I like it XP

This was incredible. I loved the rhyme scheme...subtle but noticeable enough without detracting from the poem's message. There were a few spelling errors, so just proofread before submitting a poem. But other than that, great job. Loved the analogies and how you illustrated the passage of time in the last stanza, and how you pretty much included the universal struggle of human beings: hiding behind a mask or showing who we really are. Nice job.

My fav part: " We live between the lies and lovers' boats capsized." Great use of imagery, I look forward to reading more of your poetry!
