Finding Fear

Run, I did
Scratching, clawing, fleeing
From my fear
Whatever I could to get away

And still it caught me
Tumbled me in its whirlwind
Of painful pursuit

But I survived
And now my fear
Doesn't frighten me
Anymore.

I like the emotions in this, the desperation, the futility and then the confidence of overcoming. When fear strikes us or we feel we are struggling or at the bottom, we should really remember and hold on to that, the strength, the courage and the confidence we gain when we can overcome our fear.

    Good write.

What doesn't kill us can only make us stronger. Or something like that. Yeah, I've had to fight through issues before, things that frightened me, like public speaking, and but once done, it became easier, well, manageable, lol. You explained it well.

    Poem Quote No.2 is:

“Then finally, my greatest fear happens,
before I know what’s hit me,
    you are gone
and I have never been so lost.”

From the poem "Deserving Of Nothing"

    Many thanks.
