Foolish Indulgence

What would it take for your eyes to see,
AND
not to be so blind when it comes to me?

My poetry breathes
life,
exhales the passion inside of me.

Glancing at this artic moon,
My icebox heart aches for the
warm companionship of you.

My logic spellbounded by,
your innate ability too...
Love and then leave me behind
in this wild zoo.

My eyes crystalize over,
with the deep compounding sadness
locked inside.

It is difficult to remember how
you used to be my high.

It was My foolish indulgence,
that has led me here.

My thirst for a folly,
that is yet to exist.

Hoping to continually,
be the sole receiver of your passionate kiss.

It was my greed,
wanting you all to myself,
that blinded me to truth.

Now there is nothing left.

"It is difficult to remember how
you used to be my high."

Powerful words my dear and a very powerful write.. There is much to be felt here and you expressed it beautifully..

  • This is so beautiful, and I love everything about it. I think you (almost) said everything I was trying to say in "i don't love you...", except in much-more detail.

"My thrist (should be thirst) for a folly,
that is yet to exist." <<<<----- lovelovelove. ♥

    "reciever"=receiver. Remember, i before e, except after c.

Well done & good luck in that contest of yours.

A little melancholic with tragic overtones. Nice symbolism and use of metaphor, overall a good poem that was a pleasure to read. Well done.
