cruel sleep

jihadists
cheered on by celestial virgins
squeeze sniper triggers
detonate suicide bombs
roadside explosives
murdering yankee infidels
innocent iraqis
on baghdad's meanstreets
while in america
hetero erotic romeos
scripted to seduce fashion magazine airbrushed juliets
dance the tarantella capitalista
choreographed by the masters of madison avenue

strange badfellows
collison of seeming opposites
global village idiots
shadow twins
counterfeit heroes
worshipping the same different god
broadcasting the same different lies

when will this nightmare end?
will this same different god
wake up
take control of this worldwide epidemic of violence?
will he
she
sober up
sign into some twelve disciple recovery program
confront language,class,cultural,sexual,racial,gender biases,
generational prejudices?

this drunken pornographic orgy of killing will only end
when you and I shake off this narcosis
clear the sleep of eons from our eyes
accept resposibility for creating this monstrous delusion
realize that human imagination is vast
even cosmic
determining every beyond
every afterworld
every god
promoting divisiveness
like god's people
us
them

if we see each other as the other
then god becomes supreme projected other
always distant
aloof
unreachable
omnipresent impotence
antithetical to everything human

we must end this madness
free human intelligence from this collective lunacy
hideous psychotic bondage
acknowledge the unity of all life
birth into a second innocence

In individuals, insanity is rare; but in groups, parties, nations and epochs, it is the rule.

    So true

So true words seldom thought upon, very nice write indeed

    "global village idiots
    shadow twins
    counterfeit heroes
    worshipping the same different god"

too often we do not see our samenss for the slightest of difference.

really enjoyed this read; viciously challenging us all to do better than blame and seek out a name for a faceless faith, but to have it still and put our energy in the right place; unity.

    Ackowledged poet

And one powerful write. But there is no Utopia though the world screams with young revolutionarys seeking it. The real truth is that we create our gods just have we now have created a new one here in the USA. Knowledged, accountaiblity and the recognition that it is man, not god who makes war,can only awaken us to who we are. Cold and calculating at times. Great write.

This was rather interesting. I enjoyed reading this. I would have too say that this is my favorite part:

    strange badfellows
    collison of seeming opposites
    global village idiots
    shadow twins
    counterfeit heroes
    worshipping the same different god
    broadcasting the same different lies

But overall this was pretty good, I enjoyed it!

very Passionate write, meaty- some parts were almost
-Uncomfortable-to read....because of the broad brush painted us
    all into a lump....

however...I could ...dig deeper and hear your point
    and they were very relevant...

I read a book that truly -affected- my viewpoint of God and Heaven.
God is a verb...it is of a religion that is not what I share...

however....I do believe...it is we...are Gods hands and feat.
The Passionate soul present in our DNA...and....brains
per the God spot of the Brain surgeons have found within us
    during sugeries....

    that last verse!
wow....now that is a POWERFUL and POETIC DREAM
I hope and pray to see come to fruition:
    we must end this madness
free human intelligence from this collective lunacy
    hideous psychotic bondage
acknowledge the unity of all life
    birth into a second innocence

    the lunacy for me...
    is the struggle to identify
    what it means...
    to us personally, and respectfully:

    the respect for each other
and the blessed gift of Freedom.
(did you know that some would prefer puppet strings?)
    not me.
and thank goodness not you either!

WEll written....a banquet of ...fine poetry
    that wakes us up...to enjoy!

I'm not surprised at the international reaction you've gotten from this.
Like the way you've layered this.
From the almost cynical Line 29 to the child-like hope in Line 56.
    Look forward to hearing it.
