Where's My Purple Sky

Missing image

As I sit wondering

And the days fly by

I’m aware life’s ebbing

Where’s my purple sky?

There was a time

When skies of blue

Drew to a close

With a purple hue

The sun would set

Like a heavenly dream

And I would live forever

Or so it would seem

But now here I sit

At the end of day

And my purple sky

Has turned to gray

God! I must admit

I’m not afraid to die

But promise me heaven

Has a Purple Sky

Let the horizons

That I will see

Be rich purple

To infinity

I love the poem and also the photo, I think you have talent at both. I hope your heaven has a purple sky, did you ever hear this one: I've never seen a purple cow, I never hope to see one, but from the milk we're getting now, there certainly must be one. A purple poem I read as a child.

    Breath-taking!

Albert, what a beautiful write! I was looking at the picture for awhile before I read the poem. It is so beautiful, almost unreal. What a sight to see too, wish I could see that!
As for the poem, your words truly captured my heart. Precious! It comforts me in this time right now. If you don't mind, I'd like to save this picture so I can look at it from time to time.
    I hope you're doing well!

    Lots of love, Kalen

      Hi Kalen, Me again

If you like the photo of my lake I can send you the original in a larger size and in the original colours which were more golden - red sunset. I changed it to be more purple to suit the poem -

      Hi lacef

Well I have know PurpleSky here on Allpoetry for many years - so there is quite a bit of double meaning in those word . . words that came in a matter of moments in a quickly responce to her contest . .

Thank you for your comments -

      Albert.

impressive. very publishable. I really appreciate the subtle, yet potent imagery that you use, as well as the metaphorical colors. purple is love, gentle passion, zen in your world. yes? that is why you wish for a purple heaven. purple haven.
