Doubt is the internal destroyer
Doubt rots you from the inside
It's the thief in the night
It's the cancer that consumes you
This one word decimates an entire world
It acts like a plague ravaging the heart at it's weakest
The gun against your head with one round in it
And it squeezes the trigger slowly
If this world were to rule my life
I'd much rather take the road of rage and callousness
I damn this word to hell
And damn me for allowing to rule over my head
Doubt divides love and life
Doubt leads to fear then agony and agony leads to death
It creeps forth from the shadows to get you
But I will stand in defiance of it until ends me

No critiques please, this just a raw vent that needed to fleshed out. Hopefully people can take something away from this.

I enjoyed reading this--it was refreshing and encouraging to read a poem about facing doubt, instead of wondering about it (although there are probably plenty of good ones in that category, too). Well written.

Thanks, I figure before I let it eat me alive I can spout something off to repel and maybe help another out at the same time.
