Masked

Don't you just look so daft,
Hiding behind that mask
your eyes still tell a story
what's the matter my friend?
You're iris's look dull and diminished
That ebony gown suits you tonight
your face is dull and drag
but it's complimented by the dramatic curls of your tresses

As lover's dance and mingle
those eyes make my spine tingle
you're not yourself today
you're purposely hiding
you're drowning in despair
don't you care to share?

I could be off like a shooting star
dancing away in this beautiful night
don't look so distressed
you should be blessed

The parade is starting
jezebels of women clad in barely nothing
dancing around us like we're one of them
stop dwelling my friend,
and share with me your secret

As I take the mask away
you begin to fade away
disappearing into the darkness
no sounds of despair coming to my ear
A sigh escapes my lips
the mask floats to the cobblestone ground
and I walk away.

Please tell me what you think
