The look in his eyes as he finally sees you.
The love in his face like you always imagined he would do.
You run to him and wrap your arms around him.
Your work goes darker and all the world seems dim.
The way he smiles at you makes your world seem askew.
Like you can’t help but love him no matter what you do.
You imagine all the amazing times together you will share.
And all the wonderful moments that make you care.
He finally came back.
Back from Iraq.
My soldier baby is safe at last.
He doesn’t have to be haunted by his past.
I finally get to kiss him for real.
That is the best part of the whole deal.
I know I love him more than anything man can give.
I love him so much with him is where I want to live.
I want to stay in love and grow old.
And watch movies late at night while it is me he holds.
As I fall asleep in his arms.
I’ll snuggle closer to him feeling safe and at no harm.
I love my man this is true.
And he loves me, too.
The day that I can’t wait to see.
Is the day that he’ll come home to me.
