It was 20 some odd years ago, a baby girl was born
Her mothers love was bountiful, a bonded pact was sworn
To be there for her every whim, to give support and care,
Protect her from all evils and to hide her from despair
To give her all she needed and to be there as her guide
To give a mothers comfort when she needed to confide
And as she grew, one thing stood out, and it became a norm
She was a gift from heaven, in its true and purest form
Her mind was fresh, her heart so filled with love for all she knew
Unselfishly she gave her all - her promises held true
She shared her love with those who needed comforting and care
She cheered the lives of those around, their hearts she would repair
Her goodness was a spiritual light that shone within her soul
Her love came from her pounding heart, that beat without control
Her kindness came from words she spoke, so gentle and with care
Compassion was a trait that she would unconditionally share
She has touched the lives of everyone in a special kind of way
And made them know that life's not bad, that things can be okay
And even through the hard times, her display of love still shone
It was like she knew the pact that made her and her mother one
She stood beside her, gave support and comforted her too
And through all trials and hardships, this bond has pulled them through
This unconditional partnership, of pure, untainted love
Was a special gift from heaven, sent directly from above
This heavenly soul and gracious girl, has finally come of age
She's has blessed us with just being herself, and now takes centre stage
We love you for the blessings and the memories that we've shared
Such special times, thoughts linger on, these times can't be compared
You've grown up now, your time has come to spread your wings and fly
Experience life in different ways, although you'll be nearby
The times we shared, the laughter too, i love you as my own
Just know i'm always here for you, you'll never be alone
I know one thing that is for sure, your mom will know it too
That heaven sent an angel, and that angel Jess, is you
It's only angels that see good in everyone around
