Cowboys
venturing West
did all they knew to do
to bring them all the very best
In their trial filled journey they oft lingered
in smoke filled bars with loose women
running from gun toters
scarce saved their lives
Cowboys

Thinking of many scenes I saw like this in 'Cowboy Movies'!

I agree with my fearless leader Andantino, it's a nice piece, but could use a bit of work. I'm nort sure you got caught up in the spirit of the prompt poem, The Roaring Days by Henry Lawson.
Best of luck in the contest.

You capture the "movie cowboy" pretty well here. Your syllable count is accurate. Lines 2 and 4 rhyme at the expense of content in lines 3 and 4, I think. You don't really say anything about cowboys in those two lines. I'd urge you to maximize the content in this Rictameter.
l3: should "thy" be "they"?
Ah, thank you for attending to that! Who, of mature age, does not remember Hopalong Cassidy, Tom Mix and Roy Rogers?
