A young queen in an open smile
in a yellow hat and dress
in a motorcade
glides down the kings highway
A young woman lifts four kids
onto a buick hood
their feet dangling just above
the side chrome port holes
Leaning over the brownie box
the rear red eye
almost inside the car
she takes the shot
The blownup black and white
in its formal jacket
stands in a china cabinet
for twelve years
Division shift dispersal
it turns up lost
a missing symbol
collecting cabinet dust
Yet stopping in early june
along the road’s inside curve
it sometimes reappears
- four kids on a hood
A young woman points a camera
into a sunny procession
at a young woman floating past
and captures a fleeting day
Author notes
Clio--- history
I happened on a tv documentary recently of Italian artist Pietro Annigoni.
His 1955 portrait of a young Queen Elizabeth II reminded me of a former family photo of the queen.

Thank you for giving me this slice of history.
I really enjoyed how you allowed this muse to move you.
Clio happens to be the name of the street I used to live on when I resided in New Orleans.
Good luck to you.
