I'm at work in need of someplace safe, secure, and (copywrited!) easy to store these thoughts before I forget them.
Fusion reactor: Intense magnetic fields compressing hydrogen until it undergoes atomic fusion. Is Hydrogen magnetically sensitive? If not, then perhaps these intense magnetic fields are creating a localized imitation of gravity itself! What's this mean?
Imagine a fusion reactor, with all that energy, powering a device comprisised of hundreds of thousands, perhaps millions, of superconductive materials measuring mere nanometers in diameter looped again and again and again. A truly massive electromagnetic field similar to the one compressing the hydrogen. A localized imitation GRAVITATIONAL field. Gravity propulsion, possibly. Or maybe antigravity.
Floating cities aside, this could mean easy orbital launch capability, capable of higher efficiency than standard chemical thrust rockets used today. And in a zero-g environment, possible massive acceleration. Launching probes to explore the rest of the solar system, or even other stars, with accelerations measured in perhaps tens of gravities, with no fuel limits other than power supply!
Long term, it could make solar colonization easy. A ship under a constant acceleration of 1G, with no fuel limits, could achieve great speeds over time with little stress on the crew. The propoulsion itself could be used to support a crew environment where the crew is no longer subjected to the long-term damaging effects of microgravity on the body because they would also be subjected to the gravitational anomaly, thus allowing them to operate on the journy in earth-like stress conditions.
With forethought and a well designed close-looped environment, you could have a colony ship based on a plate, the gravitational propulision 'below' that, thus having a small ready to go colony flying 'down' towards the target destination, thus providing gravity to the 'plate' AND additional protection from possible impact with space hazards such as dust and micrometeorites! With supplies and information, it may even be possible to land this ship on the colony target and begin expasion using local resources. In effect, you'd have an "instant colony" device/method!
Dark Matter, aka. Einstein's Folly:
Considered in mathematical terms, matter = 1, antimatter = -1, so dark matter is |1|, that is, the absolute value of 1. It may be positive or negative, but the specifics of that are irrelevant as it's the total amount, 1, that we are examining. Possible consideration for aiding in the explanation/research/discovery of proof of dark matter?
More consideration required. Probably a horribly wrong idea, but one worth considering, at least in implication.
Author notes
Not poetry at all, personal thoughts. Possibly science.
Honesty above all else.

I enjoyed this more than anything I've read in a few hours. Poem or not. xD
Science, ftw.
Dark matter... *eyes narrow* indeed...
Good luck with your thoughts!
