Ra may be eternal
(even in moments
of eclipse)
but Mother Sun is not,
could never be...
she loved too much,
too brightly
And so in this
the final dawn
when the left hand of
ecstasy is laid
upon the earth
do we sing with
closing throats
and rolling eyes
of sacred vision
Of every man
woman or beast
put to rest beneath
layers of light and time,
raising brown hopeful arms
to a sky with no eyes
But one heart, one colossus
one mass of breathing
exploding love there in
the darkness that says
with every particle
of its soul,
"I am listening."
She hasn't spoken for
some time now
her breath spent long ago
in the opening
of Egyptian eyes
but sometimes at night
when she thinks no one
is watching,
she smiles
for the space of a heartbeat
at lonely God there
in the cosmos
and her breath catches
holds tight
to his sacrificial hands
Author notes
Rimsky-Korsakov makes me cry.
How can I make it better?

OMG....
..... this is so right on, I can not believe you are as young as your age shows. I loved it. I never thought like this at 19. I know boys are less matured when they are younger but hell this one rocks!

Thank you very much!

this is so fucking beautiful.
rimsky-korsakov?! what has theo done to you?!?!

-
-
don't you like R-K? and theo has done nothing! you know he wouldn't approve of hymn to the sun, anyway. he's more a tzar's bride type of person. (which, incidentally, is on the way.)
-
-
all i've heard is scheherazade (on a tangent, have you read the storyteller's daughter?). is hymn to the sun similar?
are you sure about that? he made his cousin spam about ten of my past statuses last night. -
-
the storyteller's daughter? is it a book? hymn to the sun is a piece of music, haha. so I couldn't really tell you if they're similar. I just stole the title from r-k. (and scheherezade is good... but he has a bunch of smaller things that are fantastic too, so I'm writing poems for them.) also, I saw that. poor swags. theo once chatted with me using ian's name and told me I had pretty hair. I feel sorry for the kid.

haha yeah, it's a book about scheherazade (except they spell it slightly different). i think rachel might have read it. it seems like the kind of sappy book she'd read.
whooo. like what you did for poulenc!
hey...theo's told me that, too! what a player. -
-
Aww... only, he MEANS it when he says it to you... haha. but who knows? maybe swags and i are meant to be.
-
-
hahahaha. have you met the guy? he's got to be 6 ft and a good few inches. you and i maybe make it to his armpit (as lovely as that sounds).
-
-
Incidentally, Suna, I HAVE read it. I thought it seemed like the kind of sappy book an emo like yourself would secretly read under covers, trying to hide from the world the true sappiness of her soul.
