The Pack

Everyone made fun of him,
said he was too good for anyone there.
They all stared at us
whispered behind our backs.

Talk spread all over town
bout the couple from
each side of the tracks.
How unlikely it was
for an upper class to go for
the lower class.

Daddy didn't like him
told me we had to brake up.
I didn't want hurt him,
knew it would kill us.
Had to do what daddy said.

I told him we had to be through,
he looked so sad when he kissed me
and told me he loved me.
Then he sped off
without a care straight into traffic!

LOOK OUT!!!
I cried out as tires squealed
horns honked and things crashed.
My sunshine was gone, nothing to be done.

Now everyone stops and stares
fingers point, people avoid me.
I walk the town sad and lone.

Very well done. The imagery is outstanding. It is so sad, I hope it is not true.

LOL nope it is not true. I just put myself in place of the girl in the song, Leader of the pack.

    Lovely!

Romeo and Juliet meets leader of the pack....unfortunately I remember the song very well from when it came into the charts originally!! Don't know if you have seen the video (Think you are too young) but you may have seen it on MTV or something....it's corny, but good (the video)

Loved the flow of this poem, It read really well, leading me through the story. I like the last verse ....so true that people avoid you after a death.

Try me... lol. How young do you think I am? I may be older than you think. I can always research the vid on Youtube.
I grew up listening to those old songs like Leader of the pack, Breaking up is hard to do, Love me Tender, Let me be your teddy bear, all sorts of oldies.
      Thanks for the comment.

This was like reading a story, so much happened and with the cry and all, but it was nice to read it in poetry style, interesting. And it's good that everything isn't revieled in the piece, now the question still stands on why this boy was laught at, which makes it possible for anyone to see themself in this poem.
