Twin towers

On September 11
2001
That was the day the whole world stopped
The twin towers
Where attacked
Thousands died
In a matter of hours
Both towers fell
Only god knows
What we felt that day
God knows their families
Where praying on heaven
While those thousands were trapped
They could not escape that living hell
We saw what happened that day
But we could not hear their stories
And we will never understand
Why they died that day
We will never come to terms
Why we had to watch those angels falling
Some made phone calls
And in those few words
In those precious seconds
Words where enough
To tell their loved ones
How much their love was worth
In that hour of their living hell
Only god knows
We saw them fall from the skies
We could not hear their cries
Angels had fallen
The skies had darkened
The whole world on that day
Was their with them in solidarity
We where all their sharing in that shock
But on a human level
We could not dare speak
All we could do was stair
At how a day of hope
Turned to an act of evil
In one moment of saddened despair
Families where torn apart
Thousands died
And we where all that is left behind
To tell their story
And how they died

This is very good and i love the way it is worded again!!! this is a good poem for that day my best friends father died in that plane the first one he called home first<3 it was prrttyyy sad thnks for the very excellent poem

  • this was a very heartfelt poem. I would encourage you to check the grammar of this poem. Many of the "where"s should be "were"s and watch your spelling on "there" "their" and "They're"

No, sad poem, but it lacked good vocabulary.

    Angels had fallen
    The skies had darkened

    Love those lines.

    Good work poet...

I was still in uniform that day and as a soldier who had lost friends at the Pentagon I felt every death quite personally. That day has continued to be my insentive to be where I am.

      Thank you

Thank you for taking the time to read this. I am watching a documentary about it. so I thought I would write something about the families and those who died.
