On the shore of lost dreams
I pillow my head for another
Visions move to periphery
barley tangled in my sight
Heaving breath labors at night
Venom pollutes the brain
Once bright rainbows turn to sludge
No longer caring for happily ever-afters
Pieces once fit neatly together
Now sharp edged tongues of hate
No longer my prince charming
Just another day in the morgue
I lie awake refusing to sleep
until I can no longer fight it
