My Baby Boys

When I first saw the ultrasound,
I noticed a small glitch,
Two objects that were round,
Suddenly began to twitch.

The doctor then told me,
News that was unsuspecting,
"There's two you see",
That you are expecting.

We were very unprepared,
I aint going to lie,
I was very scared,
So, we kept grannies on standby.

The day you were born,
You were sent from god above,
Since then I have sworn,
That's when I first saw love.

When I first held you,
I knew you were unique,
Because there was two,
I couldn't even speak.

Soon after you began to crawl,
You took your first steps, 
I was terrified you would fall,
But you completed many reps.

Then came all the scrapes,
After you began to run,
You climbing the drapes,
That wasn't so much fun.
 
Unlike any other one, 
You both are so sweet,
Everybody knows that pun,
My little Pete and repeat.

Throughout all your growth,
You make my heart melt everyday,
When I look at you both,
You take all sorrows away.

"I don't see how you do it",
Many people always say,
I laugh and admit,
"I wouldn't have it any other way."
