Oh lady of valor,
Beautiful Queen of Ice,
If only you could know
I marvel every memory I hold
but as I sit here
among the snow and frozen willows
this wolf,
this beast I am,
I cry not for the moon
i cry not for reflections I've seen in the lake,
I howl in the night,
as all else sleeps soundly,
I howl,
as I know you sleep,
as I know you desire freedom,
I prayed I could be your white knight,
I dreamed I could hold you,
but alas these claws of mine cannot hold even you,
the most beautiful of gems,
sweet cerulean,
blue diamonds,
and tips of the ice thorns,
those from the blue roses,
those that grow in the snow.
My teeth, did they gnash?
my claws, did they slash?
my fur, was it coarse?
my voice, a piercing dagger?
did the rain bring me pity?
or did I seem to be in sheep's clothing?
if it were my arms,
for you I bite them off
it it were my tail,
I will have it fed to the bears,
if it were my eyes,
a deep gaze longing to know you,
for you I will scratch them out,
if it were my heart,
if it turned cold or heartless,
it would be honoring to cut it out,
to be your white knight,
I will tear my fur,
I will file my teeth,
and shatter my claws,
if only to see you,
you smiling at me,
once more....
