Shift in Colour

Introversion; my palisade
Disarmed by rejection,
Hardened by remorse.
Eyes widen in red light:
The world has left me
To emptily occupy space
I’m what’s left, weak;
America

Allow me my thoughts:
A recovery from a
Disease. Incurable;
Uncured

Stir the lifeless tongue
With ideas like music
For nobody’s ears
But mine

Invisibility; my blessing
Relieved by anonymity,
Preserved by disuse.
Ecstasy from separation;
I alone lack captivity
When strength resides
In containment, immured:
And I can see blue light

What did you think

    There are some interesting ideas in this poem. I rather like the phrases which balance words...

    Relieved by anonymity,
    Preserved by disuse

    ... and the oxymoronic...

    A recovery from a
    Disease. Incurable;
    Uncured

    You have a young style, a little bit enamoured of verbosity, but also some strength.

    Welcome to Allpoetry!

    There are some really interesting thoughts here. Your words seem to speak to society, with a personal reflection. Interesting vocabulary too.

    Ecstasy from separation. I liked that line a lot.
