Whose Clothes are These?

Whose clothes are these on floor and chair?
He’s sleeping in the bedroom there.
He will not know I’ve picked them up.
His mind is slow; he will not care.

My little man must think it odd
To find his shirt is free of sod.
His clothes are folded in a drawer,
Or hanging neatly on a rod.

He gives his sleepy head a shake,
Wonders if there is some mistake.
He’s certain a monster has come
His sleepy head, not yet awake.

I get so tired, sometimes I weep,
Cleaning his room, while he’s asleep.
I’ve miles to go before I sweep;
I’ve miles to go before I sweep.
