Maybe You Don't Have Everything

I've been thinking about you day and night. Your eyes are like sunlight radiating through my window. And your breath is as sweet as the melons of summer, the summer when I slept. But now my sleepless nights are filled with crying ever since you left. And now I lay on the cold hard ground waiting for  you to call back.

{You think you have everything in the world, and then they turn around and clip your wings.}

    Aww, this was very emotional...

    Usually you'd expect poems of summer
    to be warm and uplifiting.. this was
    warm at the beginning, then it got
    cold fast, as the person left.

    I know the feeling, and it hurts.

    but you've described this beautifully.

    Best of luck & thanks for entering
