Thinking

Thinking that you're thinking of me while I'm thinking of you
Are you thinking that I am thinking of you while you think of me?
A spiral of thinking
Coiling spring
Bouncy, robust, shiny
Strong metal between our minds
These thoughts which in cold dark nights we find
Apart but feeling just a gentle bounce
Oscillating heart beat lengthening to your rhythm
Snapping back, wobbly legged,
Slinky tumbling down
Each new step a memory
Stepping down down down
To that place at which I rest
Upon a soft mattress
Bundled up in warm bedding
Your photo just visible in the dark
Sleepy slowly blurring image
Eyelids down-up, down, up, Down ... up ... down
Dream
Still thinking of you
Smiley sleepel. Pretty dream
I Imagine your kisses goodnight
Knowing we think of each other
Across these miles
I hold you close in my heart

Springily tender. I really like the rhythm and your imagery. The last line brings it all together. I like it a lot!

Ha! I remember when a conversation with someone used to make me wonder thoughts like this, and even feel good to have them too.
