So much wonder was created below
Only to walk that bridge of remains alone
Cold as the driven snow
Over the wasteland to atone
The skeleton king awaits your claim
Under the seven leagues of the bounty less sea
His armies of the dead guard his treasure
With the skeleton key
Cross the bridge of peril
Down the spiral web of his kingdom
Throw yourself on his mercy
Condemn yourself to martyrdom
And take your glory
And replace it with the remains of his evil
This is the road you walk
This is the bridge you cross
The skeleton king awaits your claim
Under the seven leagues sea
His armies of the dead guard his treasure
With the skeleton key

All that Remains
I like the repetition “The skeleton king awaits your claim under the seven leagues of the bounty less sea. His armies of the dead guard his treasure with the skeleton key.”
The cold trip one takes across the bridge of remains, the bridge of peril => a very grim journey indeed.
Thank you for your “downward spiral” entry.

oh wow. This piece is amazing. I loved the flow and the descriptiveness. It is an amazingly beautifully morbid piece. I throughly enjoyed it. great take on the prompt! and best of luck to you in this contest and in the future.
