Willow

Consumed by fire and ended by flame
Eyes are now a stained black
Covered by the wraps of fate, never cry
House was killed along with home
Moonlight murdered by the sun
Ink is all that remains...

So by the firelight she writes
Upon her once pure skin
An ink she thought was black as night
Dimonds show her green begins
Roses bloom within the lines
And the moonlight sneeks back in

Killing love that never died
She longs for her family again
Tears take away the blackned eyes
And willow sees at last...
Love is the key to life.. not the past

I love the last line, wraps up the poem well. I like the flow, its interesting. The description and depictions of love really caught me Love is the key to life.. not the past, possibly words to live by.

Some great descriptions in this. I feel the poem as a whole is very original, but the first two stanzas were stronger in my opinion than the last. Thanks for entering

Interesting. It reminded me of a book called Minstrels Kiss. I think that's how it is spelt. But I know you don't care about the book.. But that's what it reminded me of. Along with the fairie group. Heehee.
