Learning to appreciate
One could not quite easily negate
Is easily quite a trip a thought in which to engage
The mind, the soul, the heart to yearn for and reach
Learning to go, with the flow
And yet at once, resist the blow
The jolt, the jar, the absolute shock
Of damnation in your face at once thrown
And yet a sweet sorrow it does become
When all at once your heart resolves
To of such nonsense reason dissolve
And all at once but to discover life’s paradox to be solved
For what is light without darkness?
And what is love without pain? You ask
What is gain without loss?
And what is joy without distraught? You understand
All at once then your mind is lost
And must by nature surrender to this cause
That life will not with you adjudicate negotiate or even remediate
The fact that life is but a senseless contingent circumstance
And when suddenly by the shadow of this thought all seems lost
An amazing transformation comes to pass
What you then used to consider a substantial act
At all once becomes insignificant to enact
And then at once your joy you find
In the little insignificant meanderings of life
For you have come to understand
That for this very reason was life meant to come to pass
And so with this new tool at hand
You anew come to seek
The significance of your terrestrial happenstance
And for once you see, the right question have you asked
And so one conclusion do we draw
That life was not meant to be considered, consumed in frivolous thought
But rather to be lived, explored, in delectable enjoyment
In serious reverent appreciative acknowledgment of its brevity
So once again do we say
Learning to appreciate
One could not quite easily negate
Is easily quite a trip a thought in which the mind to engage
What did you think

welcome to all poetry
You have a done a great job with this, although some of the lines were a bit long so it threw your flow off. Nice poem

Welcome to AllPoetry!!!
This is a very thought provoking poem...you have to learn to appreciate the bad side of things, before you can truly enjoy the good in life. Nicely written!
