I searched
wondering where to find the truth
  of life

I cried
feeling so small in this world
  this cruel place

I prayed
trying to find the right answers
  everywhere

I was silent
because I had nothing
  to say

I waited
hoping to hear God's voice
in the midst of the darkness

He called me
reaching out into my darkness
  His light shining

He saved me
and made me His child
  now I am free

Ann, Love the stairsteps in this poem, each stanza leading to the next level until the object of the search is found in the in the providence and care of God. Good progression and flow, very meaningful. Well done! Write On!

Great! I love the progression and final end to the piece. Poetry with hope is awesome!

    second to last stanza:

I think the last line would make the whole phrase sound better if it went like this: "His shining light"

I like each stanza, how it progresses from fear to hope. Glad you divided like that to give a pause for the reader to bask in the simple emotion
I admire this write, really since there are times I'm in His arms and then there are times I'm lost so yes, this is quite inspiring

testimony Anne! An intimate sharing of what many of us go through in our search for answers in this life of trial and how Father hears us. Bravo for this. All the best in the Contest. Thanks for reminding me of my Bookmark!
