in shades of black and blue
purple and strange green
the marks of yesterdays pain
lie just below the surface
exposing the damage that was done
deep within
sometimes you just can't hide what's been done.
Author notes

I have found this clicking on the RANDOM button - my preferred way of selecting poems for comment.
I am not in general a great enthusiast for ultra-short poems... but this impressed me very much - except for the final line, which seems trite and unnecessary. Do please consider deleting it.
Likewise, DO delete your Author's Note. The motivation for writing a poem - and indeed any struggles you had to bring it to perfection, are the POET's business ONLY. The finished poem should burst upon the world in all its glory... without "wraps" or excuses. The only valid purpose for the "Author's Notes" box is to explain a historical, literary, topographical allusion which may be unclear to some readers. But even for that purpose it should be used with discretion - ideally a poem should be self-explanatory. -
