The Wreckage of My Mind

One reason I’ll find peace tonight
twisting on reverie that brings me to my knees
is a thieving bright madness that feels no different
from distractions in emptiness pulling up cold
flying to escape inevitable pains and sadness
which I prefer to believe, and I will believe the worse...
yet I place my mind’s wreckage in the arms of chances
and the comfort there.
