that sweet click click click
as you make your way across the floor;
I must say, when announcing my presence
I prefer to slip in a scream
warped enough to drive a teep insane,
but you've shown me there's definitely something
to subtlety.
I want to stroke your cold metal,
hear your mechanics squeal
and whisper things dirty enough
to oil up your gears,
but all in good time;
romance
must come first
so I'll lead you down long ship corridors
laced with rose petals,
and read you poetry
under the stars we'll soon win,
hoping for just a touch of those spidery legs
against my own,
though let's keep it to first base;
I hope I can convince you to think of something other
than replicating (not on the first date!)
if only I got on better with the inlaws;
seeing as old mom and pop (not to mention
your thousands of siblings)
would like nothing better then to break me apart
and absorb my matter,
I'm thinking
we may have to elope
I've heard of this little place
where they do quickie weddings, no questions asked:
an earthforce space-station
of some fame or another
so the only complication remains,
a somewhat touchy subject. . .
where do I put the ring?
as you make your way across the floor;
I must say, when announcing my presence
I prefer to slip in a scream
warped enough to drive a teep insane,
but you've shown me there's definitely something

Author notes
Purely for fun, romance between a Shadow (from B5) and a replicator (from Stargate).
I thought they made as good of an odd couple as any other. OMG I just realized that "Shadow" by Britney Spears is playing on the radio right now. . . lol!
And a late happy birthday to you, AllThatRemains! I love this contest idea!
