In you ride
On you white steed
Of lies.
You pretend that
You're good and
You can mend all
the wrong.
In your white armor
All glistening and clean
A mask you have
Shown me
Seeming tall and serene.
But underneath it
Is a darkness most obsene
You weave all these deceptions
Make me feel you could fix it
And when I learn that
You're wrong,
That glistening armor
is tainted and wrong.
For I am my
Own White Knight
No man do i need
No lies
No deciet
No fiction to be seen
I'll mend it
I'll tend it
Make sure that it's right
Because I'm the one with all the might

Way to go, the lesson that you can only depend on yourself is one that is learned throughout life when the tough things get you and you're the only one who could save yourself from them
well done your words were sad truthful and lovely

Ha! Chivalry is dead.
It was left to neglect and starve in the 60's.
Not to say that we couldn't all use somebody to lean on once in a while (women and men).
The issue of trust that you speak of in this piece is a whole nother deal.
And one shouldbeware of whos hands they willing place such a fragile thing in, remembering that even the devil has a charming smile when it's trying to tempt you to sell your soul (metaphorically that is
)
Anyhell, I dig the write by the way.
