Cancer gripped this little girl
but her fight is far more intense
Mother left, she couldn't handle

Anger is ripping me apart
as I watch this angel fight
Words I whisper can you hear?

Lilly of the garden of love

Clouds have gathered to shake the night
but you will make it through
You are the lightening of this storm
your power a surge for life and love

the time isn't now to soar the skies above
You are needed by many, by me,
the sirens are blaring the water main broke free
On humbled knees I am begging,
as tears burn my face, I love you Princess Lilly
Searching the skies for the brightest star
but it is no where in sight
For the brightest of such is fighting for life
and darkness is battling the light
Thunder erupts your fragile body trembles
and I can only watch from the door
From knees I capture the movements slow motion
as I fight to breathe once more...
Escorted to my room as they do their best
I picture our shopping spree
A new wig for you and 3 roses of forgiveness
and now alone I am sitting praying for thee
Princess Lilly one of my greatest gifts
your smile the healing for sorrow
Little hands in mine as we toured the day
and hoping for many tomorrows...
I shall sit here and wait until the news comes in
that you are ready for your special surprise
And I shall wheel out to your room and pick you up
and read you a poem just for you and your eyes

and I shall do my very best to do so

Tonight my heart bleeds as a little lady I met two days ago (age 11) is battling for her life this evening. She has cancer and was diagnosed 8 months ago. A month into it her mother left and never returned. She took to me and I to her. Please, pray if you pray, if not please hold her in thought close to your heart.
Today was spent enjoying her first ever wig and eating lunch other then her room. She is a blessing to life...she is a blessing to me.

At 5:30 this morning, a little after Tory had been allowed in to Lilly's room to read her this poem, Lilly died. She died smiling, with hair and holding Tory and telling her she loved her.
A beautiful end to a very sad time.

I am happy and sad that I clicked on this.....what a beatuiful write. First of all I am honoured to read this. I am not stranger to cancer and death, I watched in horror as I lost two of my family member's to this unforgiving disease..In fact I have written on the subject because of my sister's cancer...I remeber how devastated she was when her hair started falling out...I am sorry for this little princess. the fact that she died smiling is both felt as heart break, and relief.
Its just the way it is. so sad to see so many young and old people held prisoner by this disease...The loss was great no doubt. And there are no words really to express true sorrow, or true grieving and the turmoil this brings in after death. Its a long haul. I work with children,, and all I have left to say is its they the children that teach us, not the other way around...I pray she is shining on her loved ones from heaven where she is surrounded by whatever she lacked in this short life of hers. I will envision her in fields and fields of Lilly's in every colour........for she is safe from harm now, gone is pain........gone is suffering for her..........
this was a beatuiful write, really and I am both happy and sad I clicked on it...my sincere condolonces.......I am sure she was a beauty......and still is.............

Your Lilly is an Angel and may you find comfort in knowing that she will only know Heavens joys and Gods abiding love. Princess Now the Queen
Dear princess Lilly can you help me,
my face does need a smile
Take me on a trip so far away,
to some distant native isle
Exploring fresh clean waterfalls,
in the surf horses we ride
Fishing with our hands in streams,
spooky caves in which to hide
And we will climb the old volcano,
to watch this red hot lava roar
Dancing for hours in the warming rain,
as waves crash upon the shore
At night we watch the stars come out,
in a show we won’t forget
Twinkling bright we make our wish,
to giant shadow silhouettes
Adventure meets us our every turn,
for pirate’s treasure we now search
Seems we’ve found old Captain Jack,
he was hiding in the church
Taking us to sail the seas,

Dear Lilly,
Keep your head up high. I know many people who have had cancer. Some were taken too early, and the rest fought their way through. You have so much to live for, and I have the faith that you will grow old and have many happy days.
This poem brought tears to my eyes. So very sweet. Honestly, the title is what made me read it. I have a step daughter named Lily that was taken away (by her mother). So I have a soft spot for little girls named Lily. And I know how important it is to hold on to all of the little princess' in this world, especially the ones that need it the most.
