Utopian Simplicity

Not only a simpler place
but a simpler time.
When assumptions and greed
and Machiavellian maneuvers
were never thought of.

Neighbors said "hello"
and were there when you
needed a helping hand.
Never minded your business
but opened their hearts and doors.

Children watched MOTHER NATURE'S
vivid light shows of thunderstorms and
fireflies along with a symphony of cicadas
and katy-dids

Utopian simplicity
my secret yearning
for perfect peace.
Where in that simpler
time and simpler place
PEACE WAS.

    Oh how i too wish that life could once again be a simple as it seems way back when i was young Guess much of it may be rose tinted glasses. I am sure that my parents looked back and thought their time was better than mine
