The One Who Doesn't Know How To Feel

they weren't even there to do it that way
I beseeched them to try again
especially after the fatal mistake
of picking them riper than ten
but they pissed and they moaned
and they persisted my wrongs,
determined to prove themselves deserving
by disregarding the rules
and abusing the tools
just to end up with two boys, left squirming
they knew it was askew from the blood that was shed
becuse I'd always taught them to keep clean their dead
of course they went and panicked
at the first sound of distress
of course they weren't ready
standing in their god-awful mess
they were caught three days later (as the bird flies anyway)
with the screams drilled in their skulls
and just the price left to pay
its always bound to happen with the weakest of minds
you think they're ready to face it
you'd think they'd at least try
and yet the human psyche always seems to snap
at the sound of a child screaming
as you skin him upon your lap
I tell you now, in this soft world of real,
I pray for the one who doesn't know how to feel.
