understanding agonized alert
come dance in sunshine's warming
break through cold bars of hurt
embrace victims wounded, bleeding
treasure the fragile, the frail
uplift the mourning, suffering
free hearts pierced by violence' nail
come join in caring circles
pick up the cradle cry
pamper small priceless spirits
those with the wish to die
bridge every distant black hole
color stark night with hope
expose each newborn, brave soul
stars that in darkness cope
search for soft eyes in breaking
bring forth the bodies bruised
unveil the masks in faking
adorn all bodies used
come join in resurrection
tenderly put to breast
all lips in thirst by rejection
let's put pure love to the test!
Author notes
To all abused or victimized: children or adult survivors; to those who are abusers BECAUSE of being abused: please seek help! There IS help for the willing soul, but it may become too late ... Act NOW! Let us break this vicious circle by LOVE!

Thank you so much for this Gold!
I have a child (abused by a family "friend") who, by the grace of God overcame his agonizing experience. Our family suffered the consequences of court cases and added victimization for two decades. I do believe that the perpetrator will get a final chance to repent (if he did not have that final chance already, and blew it!) for while he is still alive, God's merciful love may bring him to truth. I know he too was probably the victim of abuse. Do I hate him? I most certainly do not, but I must be honest: anger sometimes does engulf me ... so I have some work to do still towards forgiveness. But who am I to judge? God will do that. But: what I DO know IS: I did all I possibly could to break the cycle in the case of my child and I continue doing it in society. I thank God for the strength to do that still.
Thank you so much for hosting this contest. You did this for mankind -- an outcry to action and a guideline for those who seek.
Love to you and all the best with your poetic journey toward Eternity.

The black background makes the words leap out at me. The sentiments expressed are profound, yet simple at the same time. Have some applause..
