The credits finish rolling across the screen,
Your peaceful breathing floats over my skin,
Your head a comforting pressure on my chest,
Your warm body resting against mine,
Holding my whole world in my arms,
My only worry is that you will wake from your dreams,
Someone turns on the light,
You startle but remain asleep,
I release a small sigh of relief,
Light steps start up the stairs,
She enters the room and stops,
She gazes at us for a moment then walks away,
She turns off the light retuning us to our quiet, dark space,
Now the only light is coming from the TV screen,
Bathing us is in a soft blue light,
It makes your skin look so soft,
It makes me want to trace your face with my fingertips,
Then something in your dream makes you smile,
I wonder what it is, then you answer my question,
You breathe out my name and your smile grows,
I feel myself smiling too, both inside and out.
