1st Assignment for Cooking Class

To make the best peanut butter cookies you will ever put in your mouth is actually quite simple.  First you pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit so that when you have the dough ready the over is ready.  Then you start making that delicious cookie dough by mixing the margrine, sugars, egg, peanut butter and vanilla.  Make sure it is very well blended!  Then with a hand mixer you add in the flour, baking soda and salt.  (Easy so far, right?)  After you have the dough all mixed up you put it in the fridge to cool for 15 minutes.  (I suppose you could wait until now to pre-heat the over, your choice).  While the dough is in the fridge you should spray some of that nifty non-stick spray on the cookie sheet.  As hard as it is to wait, you have to let it sit at least 15 minutes so go read some e-mails or something while you wait.  Ding!  After the 15 minutes are up you make the dough into golf ball sized balls and put them on the sprayed cookie sheet.  After that you want to gently mash them down with a fork and make a criss-cross pattern on them. Bake them about 7-10 minutes or until the edges are golden brown, but DO NOT OVER COOK!  If you store them in plastic containers they stay soft.  And that is how you make the best peanut butter cookies you will ever put in your mouth!
