Drugs

It started once in chocolate and ended up in coke.
A vicious cycle, this demise runs like a wheel they stoke.

It found its way in music pangs of deadly viper fangs.
Weak kneed and captive ones validated within their gangs.

Seducing strays of the unsupported, the innocent and deceived.
This epidemic has spreads like fire while separate lives aren’t retrieved.

Children caught with the bait of candy for a drug dealer’s distain.
Parents thought carelessly too busy to calculate this reign.

The moral blueprint, the Bible, was negated out of American Schools.
Retribution now has no recompense to validate but the Golden Rule.

What teaching is there, in the homes, to warn these kids at play?
These criminals learn their advantage for innocent victim to pay.

Legal drugs are in our churches, with the elderly aged old people.
Steroids are prescribed for all types, their affects higher than a steeple.

Seems the government has this market, for every cause and lure;
Drugs are really big business, or they would have found a cure!

Where does love go when it takes no shape or form?

    I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!
