Lover gone

Did not know what to think,
When you stopped replying,
My heart took time to sink,
Hope kept me believing.

Time dragged by day by day,
All feelings drained me numb,
Nothing more left to say,
The love I felt gone.

Still find it hard to believe,
How I've been ignored,
Promised you wouldn't leave,
Apparently got bored.

As I look at you now,
I see you were an ass,
You viewed us as a show,
My feelings did not last.

Thinking of you makes me sick,
Not how you were but my stupidity,
To you I was simply a chick,
Told me to think of it as a story.

Well then this is how it ends,
Illusion drained away,
No longer even friends,
On the ocean alone I sway.
