You Were On My Mind

As the orange hue settles in the western sky,
It's the tequila sunrise that burns in your eyes.
An exotic passion thats hidden deep within,
Waiting for someone to make you give in.
Like the torrent currents of the Amazon,
Hidden from view by the mountainside.
The passion within seeks to come to life,
But held in reserve for a special knight.
Countless warriors have sought your soul,
Like Aphodite' you've taken your toll.
While dancing with me on the roof top,
I fuelled your desire and you let your gown drop.
Releasing our passions to a starlit night,
Our souls together as we took flight.
Kissing, caressing with no sound of cars,
Our intimacy shared by the moon and the stars.
Consumed with passion and filled with lust,
The moon looks down and smiled at us.
Suddenly I realize and I'm sad to find,
All of this - was just in my mind.

Be critical, ones never to old to learn new tricks!

The last 2 lines; 'Suddenly I realize and I'm sad to find,/All of this--was just in my mind' are a touching counterpoint to a beautiful, beautiful poem. Excellent!!!
