Wildfire

A delicate tangent of burning leaves
Their fire kept in check by thick, dark trunks;
Upon a breath of wind an ember escapes
Floating down toward the ground
Where it slowly turns
Faded brown and crisp, crushed beneath our many feet
Upon the earth where soon all will sleep.

    Very Enjoyable

    I found this a relaxing read ,and very visual are your descriptions of the fire.I also love your concept of our demise as in the earth we will sleep.A very like-able poem.

    Definitely a gentle piece of writing - a bit pessimistic perhaps as I myself intend to keep out of the earth for as long as possible. Autumnal colourings too.

    Definitely a fan of this write. I'm a big fan of nature poetry and I use it a lot in what I write, even if the write itself is not directly linked to nature poetry. You used great language, you depicted the scene well and I could see it in my mind's eye and then at the end, you did what all great nature poets do, and that's take the scene you are describing and identifying a piece of human psyche and culture and attributing its likeness to something in nature that we overlook. Very poignant.
