Should time and space give me a surprise--
The world’s greatest healer at my door
Overtaken by intrigue I’d invite Him inside
For tea and His thoughts to explore.
I’d ask what He thinks of the world today
Those for whom He gave up His life
Of how humankind the earth can change
To lessen global war and strife.
So many questions to Jesus I would pose
Countless suns could rise before I’m through
And if of these queries I could ask only one?
“Your mortal life--what of the tale is true?”
Surely meanings have been lost in time
Over centuries since this story took place
I want the truth from the man Himself
Who showed the world such love and grace.

For contest. I'm not deeply religious but found this contest really thought-provoking and spent a while wondering what my reaction would be if Jesus Himself appeared at my door!
