O' Worrier

If I think about it long enough
  would circumstances change?
My child, that way is long and rough
such things are mine to rearrange

When I talk about the problem oft
  will my pity parties wane?
My child, that lifts small things aloft
  and drives a mind insane

And what if I pretend or hide
just say, “The problem isn’t there?”
As a sand castle cannot stop the tide
that road won’t get you anywhere

Then what if I demand my way
or push these things toward others?
My child, you’d find that sorrows stay
you weren’t a keeper to your brothers

But what if it’s too big or small
  why concern your mighty hand?
My child, your pride and doubt’s a wall
  by them you’ll never understand

Then all I’ve left is to lay them down
to leave them at your feet!
My child, then wipe away your frown
this path alone brings joy complete

Author notes

"Martha, Martha," the Lord answered, "you are worried and upset about many things, but only one thing is needed. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her." Luke 10:41-42

    Yes, I am.

Mostly I seem to be relearning the same lessons over and over. Can't quite get them to stick it seems.
