Summer Garden

We waltz by rooted beauty,
Stark, their notion of envy,
as they gaze from the ground

upward, they spy the sunshine
that kisses your face, where
they cannot climb
to do the same,

yet they lay open against
you as familiar, a favour, gifting
fountains of scented devotion

as they strum along a wild path.
I will share you, for a moment
with a bold bouquet, one ripe

of summers night, a gentle garden
But betray not their tender bud
For their soils soothe deep

    Gorgeous...

Such vivid imagery that creates a beautiful scene in the mind of your reader with words to consume as we breath in the scene...
    Impressive as always...
    Keep up the good work...
    Well done!!!

this is my favorite one....loved it...so tender and exquisite!
What a lovely ink you used upon this poem!

I missed ya...and wanted to see what your ink and soul
    have been up to!

Luscious gardens we have enjoyed in WA. state due to the
    unusual warm weather....

    I loved your lines:
    upward, they spy the sunshine
    that kisses your face, where
    they cannot climb
    to do the same,

    yet they lay open against
you as familiar, a favour, gifting
    fountains of scented devotion

and the last lines were so kind and tender!
    WAY TO WRITE!

These things you touch on with that gentleness you have in you are like soft breezes that whisper in the evening air to soothe a fevered mind and troubled heart. There is a healing spirit here that refreshes me to my depths . . . like cool water quenching on a hot summer's day. This I love in particular:

". . . as they strum along a wild path.
I will share you, for a moment
    with a bold bouquet . . . "

Yet again it seems something new is here . . . something not present in some of your earlier work . . . a depth and feeling . . . a sensuousness that takes the reader into your world . . . into your thoughts and feelings.

    Excellent.

    Good luck in the contest.

    Garrison

and best wishes in the contest!

Very pretty poem. Magical in a sense. I found myself trying to "see" things behind metaphor...always love a thinker.

a good piece of poetry penned, ah poettaled sighs i feel here, soft and sensual sweeps of fragant wonder that gather the senses into smiles, to flutter towards the sky's open grin.
