With Worst Regards

Truth:

You extend no salutations now;
well, nor do We.
And, in case you have spoken with Honesty lately,
i allow that We're delighted
to have punctured
such verdant discourse as yours...
Unless--perhaps--We've interupted nothing?
That is: We haven't heard from you in awhile;
Do you yet speak?

Deception lends more sympathy,
and We quite favor his disposition.
Yes: in your absence,
We've averted our wants
from your meretricious appeal and,
honestly,
We've come to doubt your infallibility.
Has it once occured to you that maybe
you too have been misguided before--
that you too have been wrong, even?

You show no mercy:
you harbour no love. Thus, We question your integrity
especially when you're evading We.

Sorry if this is a bit presumptuous
but i think i should be honest.
See, I am weak in my defiance,
unlike Them,
and i think i could miss you
imminently.

What did you think

    NIce work .....especially the development of the dialogue between yourself and your evader

    the context is a bit vague but I get the idea from :

    You show no mercy:
    you harbour no love, so We're (questioning) your integrity
    especially when you're evading We.

    tell me is I am wrong

    • Thanks for taking the time to read this and try to interpret it! The first word of the poem is "Truth:" and it is followed by a blank line. I was trying to show that i'm personifying and writing a letter to Truth, with whom I am not quite satisfied in this poem. I'm looking at the concept from a different perspective basically. Not one that I necessarily agree with, but it suited my mood at the time when I wrote it.
