In Remberance

  In remembrance

Clear skies overhead bird song greets the new dawn
And Columbia’s crew await the countdown that will send them high among the stars.

Love ones and friends stand in the early morning splendour
The good-byes have been said and prayers wing their way heavenward… God speed.

On the launch pad the silver chariot reflects the morning light
Her crew eagerly await the flick of the switch that will send them hurtling skywards setting them free from earth’s confines.

All is well as they lift off and their spirits soar along with Columbia
through portholes eyes look backwards at the magnificace and splendor of the blue orb shining brightly in the darkness of space.

Job done Columbia is heading home hearts beat happily and thoughts turn to reunions as earths shining countenance welcomes back the seven on board.

Among the debris and horror of the breakup Angels gather and with open arms tenderly gather the brave souls to them
For as yet they know not that they are in spirit.
